Ideally, products would meet all or most of these features, but this is rarely possible. Therefore, in practice it is important to consider different options and choose the one that best suits our needs, possibilities and preferences.

Ceilings, walls and floors

With the empty room, the first steps are related to paint ceilings and walls, or perhaps wallpapering and sometimes put parquet on the floor or carpet.

Since the small or small spend much time in the room, it is key that the indoor air quality is optimal. It is therefore important that non-toxic paints. If you can not be green, at least we monitor this aspect.

When painting the wall radiators choose specific paint for this use. Or, better still, avoid paint. Than with conventional paint, when in operation the heat fill the atmosphere of toxic particles that cause headaches and, since they will be inhaled, also other health problems.

Tips for creating an ecological nursery

One trick to that, usually more expensive, ecological paint comes to mind is we use less. As shown in the picture above, we can use paint stripes beneath the paint and make a nice effect.

Above ground, avoid materials containing toxic elements that may also end up polluting the atmosphere and, of course, also the planet.

It would be perfect to use ecological parquet, for example made of bamboo. Yes, provided that it is accompanied by the respective certification as organic materials may be accompanied by others who are not at all.

Bedding, carpets and curtains

The bedding, carpets and curtains passes as much of the same. If we want healthy and sustainable materials, will be key to choose them organic.

Reuse and recycling also add green points, but in this case it is important to prioritize healthy environment, which is more advisable bio raw materials.

Certified organic cotton is the most common. Its price may be affordable. For example, actually we invest more in ecological materials in some tissues that increase their prices especially for the printing and design. Thus, the price will not be greater.

Ecological furniture

The choice of furniture should also be something to look after. Usually many finishing furniture chipboard or PVC, for instance, include toxic materials.

Obviously, in the case of these materials far we can be doing the environment a favor. On the contrary, in addition to proceeding uncertified wood or synthetic materials, they are subjected to highly polluting chemical processes.

If we really want eco-friendly furniture, we opt for those that offer us the guarantees of it. That is, look for those bearing the label indicating that the wood comes from sustainable forests.

Or, for example, we opt for bamboo furniture, in which case we must also watch that are organic. Although bamboo provides a more sustainable timber trees, treatment with varnishes could ruin our choice.

Again, organic certification will serve as guidance and, if we want to make furniture, we control the use of paints and varnishes.

Consider also the possibility of purchasing manufactured baby furniture ingeniously, with designs that offer solutions over the years. For example, cribs that are adapting to the growing baby phasing out its rails (they are removable) into a conventional crib are made.

Natural light and healthy air

The climate of the nursery is another key chapter. First, we try to choose well-targeted stay to avoid extreme temperatures.

Logically, conditioners regulate the temperature devices, but their use will be more efficient as less effort have to. Similarly, if the natural temperature is pleasant task we will not have use of these devices.

Installing a ceiling fan can help to better distribute the temperature and save energy. Recall here that changing the rotational direction of the blades get the best results to heat the same in winter and summer.

That room has window is important, first, to take advantage of natural light. Similarly, it will enable us to ventilate the room.

It is sufficient to do it once a day and no more than ten or fifteen minutes. It is sufficient for the room air renewal time, although sometimes we can do it again, especially with diapering.

Beware of second hand

For babies, object reuse is very common. On the one hand, we save good money, and secondly do the planet a favor. However, reuse is not always a good idea.

If the object can be disinfected easily and is very near the baby, it could be interesting. As a precaution, however, it is advisable not to.

We do not particularly mattresses, clothing, cots, buggies, toys and grooming. Let us not forget that babies have weak immune systems, and in these situations all too careful when it comes to avoiding risks.
